How much do you charge?

Apple Warranty repairs are performed at no charge (Apple Warranty and AppleCare repairs cover defects directly caused by Apple. Apple's warranty is not insurance; problems attributable to user action, negligence, or abuse are not covered by Apple and are the financial responsibility of the customer). We charge $88 per hour for repair, training, support, and general consulting services. Business installations are charged on a case-by-case basis (we charge hourly for travel time). We charge a minimum fee of $50 for evaluating equipment. The evaluation fee is applicable to any subsequent services and may be waived at our discretion. All sales and services are subject to Hawaii's GET tax. We do not carry accounts; payment for service is due upon delivery

That seems like a lot of money; what do I get?

You get the services of someone who has been in the computer business for over twenty years. No guesses... no learning on the job... no shortcuts. We charge only for parts and the time we take--no more and no less. That saves you time and money.

When are you open?

We are available only by appointment so that we can get your machine back to you the same day, in many cases. We welcome your questions, so call us at (808) 329-7767 to see if Coffeemac is right for you. We're usually available between 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday. We close at noon on Friday. We don't answer the phone on weekends, before 8:30 a.m. or after 5:00 p.m. We encourage you to leave a message giving us your name, phone number and a detailed description of your problem. We always answer messages.

Are you affiliated with Aloha Mac or Aloha Computers?

No. See above.

Where are you located?

Call us for directions.

Do you service PC's (non-Apple equipment)?

No. We recommend Island Tech for your PC needs. They also sell some Mac-compatible items (i.e. keyboards, mice, memory, hard drives, power adapters). We do support the installation of Windows on Intel-based Macs.

Do you do housecalls?

No. The demand for our services has increased to the point that we can't do housecalls any more. Please refer to the service or classified sections of the West Hawaii Today newspaper to find providers who can travel to your location.

Do you sell computers?

No. The best source for Apple products is the Apple Store (1-800-MY-APPLE).

Do you do warranty work?

We are Apple Authorized Service Providers.

Do you accept credit cards?

Yes. Visa and Mastercard.

Do you lend software or provide pirated software?

No. We require our customers to have licensed copies of necessary software.

What is "computer maintenance?" Why do I need it?

Computers don't store information in neat, orderly units; that's too slow. Computers throw your stuff into the first and largest free space they can find. That's faster and more efficient. But over time--like a living room that hasn't been cleaned--the computer runs out of places to put things. It has to chop your files up into pieces to save them efficiently. That slows your computer down. And, if you run out of room to save your files, your computer may stop altogether. You may lose all your data if this happens. Bringing your computer to us for maintenance keeps this from happening.

All this "No! No! No!" Where's The Aloha?!

We want to be the best computer repair and consulting shop in Hawaii. Telling it like it is saves us all a lot of time and trouble. We strive to abide by the Aloha Spirit in everything we do. Call and let us prove it.

Mahalo nui loa.
